Getting Around in Bohol
Traveling within Bohol should pose no problems to the average tourist. Tricycles, Jeepneys, Taxis, Buses and habal-habal (motorbike with driver) are all available.
The most common way to get around Tagbilaran and Panglao is the tricycle and jeepney, both offering a hop-on-hop-off system. For longer journeys the bus or V-Hire are the better / only option.
You can hire a small motorcycle and tour yourself around. I would advice extreme care if you opt for this mode of transport. Driving standards in the Philippines are not the highest in the world.
The majority of locals, foreign residents and tourists, ride around without crash helmets. I know its hot over here but I always wear a lid and think its stupid to ride around without one. Its common to see 4 or 5 people on one bike, young kids and babies as well...
If you want to see the tourist spots of Bohol, my advice would be to hire a car / van with driver. You can opt to have a fully inclusive tour package or just the vehicle rental and make your own itinerary . Its by far the safest most relaxing and easiest option for the average traveler.
However you travel, Public Transport, Motorcycle or Private Car/Van, be careful, take your time and expect the unexpected. Take some water and snacks with you, many places you will visit have zero facilities.
We can of course arrange your tour package or just the car / van rental. Just Contact Us with your requirements.
