Tourist Spots in Bohol

Located about 16km South of Tagbilaran City, Bohol, the Watch Tower at Punta Cruz, Barangay Maribojoc is well worth a visit.
Constructed by the Spanish in the 1796, this strategic location offers an excellent view of the surrounding sea (Cebu, Siquijor and Mindanao can be seen from the Tower).
The purpose of the tower was to defend the town and Barangay of Maribojoc against pirates and Muslim marauders. The prominent position of the tower giving advanced warning of incoming vessels, allowing the locals to plan their defense.
The site has a small shop selling ice cream, cold drinks, various snacks and
souvenirs. Several picnic tables give you a place to sit, all offering a view of the sea. Its possible to swim here as well, so pack your swimsuits. There are Toilets but don’t forget to bring your own tissue.
I recommend a visit to Punta Cruz, its clean, tranquil and not really that far from Tagbilaran City. Like many places along this side of Bohol it is often left out of the normal day tour packages.
