Tourist Spots in Bohol
Danao Adventure Park offers a fantastic alternative to the normal Bohol Day Tour attractions. With a wide variety of activities to choose from, there really is something for the whole family.
There ware a few oldies on our day out, so the Sky Ride (cable car) was an excellent way for them to have some fun. It takes a gentle trip across the deep ravine and back. The view is amazing, you are high up, so not for the squeamish.
The Sui-Slide (zip line) is for the more adventurous. You hang horizontally in a harness / sling and are required to wear a safety helmet. Once you are released gravity does its work and in no time you plunge across the deep gorge. Its scary, exciting and exhilarating all at the same time. The best part is once you reach the other side you have to do it all again to get back
A host of other activities are available, caving, river rafting, rappelling and the really extreme “Plunge” to name a few.
Danao is not all about extreme adventure. Visitors who prefer a more leisurely experience, can take part in activities such as bird watching, visit the on-site organic farm, take a rice field walk and of course general sightseeing. Danao Adventure Park really is a place of natural beauty.
It was raining on the day of our visit and this really spoilt things. It can get very muddy and we decided to make the trip a short one. I have been told that in the peak season and weekends the park can be very busy. The line of people waiting to take the rides can get quite long.
All in all it is a great place to visit. To be honest a large family could find it an expensive day out. While individual activities are not so costly, multiply that for a family of four, you’re looking at 1,000php ++, and that’s just for the Sky Ride.
The road to Danao after Sagbayan Peak turns into a dirt track. Not excessively bumpy, but rough enough to make progress along it slower than desirable. There is ongoing road improvement work, so hopefully this will address this issue.
