Tourist Spots in Bohol
Ostrich Farm Loay is a great place to visit and is now often included on the Panglao Island Day Tour Packages.
The Ostrich farm is really a small zoo, with several snakes, several bird species, sea turtles and even a Tarsier (sadly hiding during my visit).
For sure its not the biggest or greatest attraction in the Philippines, but then that is missing the point. the Ostrich Farm in Loay is a small cottage industry, earning its owners and a few locals a small income.
There are 4 or 5 Ostriches that roam around in a large pen. They seem friendly if not a little intimidating because of their size. Picture taking is fun as they never stand still and seem to have a liking for small digital cameras.
I found the staff very friendly and was allowed to hold one of the large snakes (Albino Python). For me it was my first time to touch one of these beautiful reptiles, and it made a great picture for the album
Entrance Fees
Entrance fees are 25php for adults and 10php for children, its polite to also make a small donation. ( to be confirmed )
Ostrich Farm, Loay is a nice place to visit and the kids will have fun. There is a shop on site offering some refreshments and souvenirs.
I enjoyed my visit and will go back if only to hold the snake again. We will be offering this Tourist Attraction on our upcoming Revised Bohol Day Tour.
