Tourist Spots in Bohol
Bohol Bee Farm, Resort & Restaurant, Panglao Island, is a "hidden treasure" you really must visit. Set within a beautiful backdrop of natural woodland and also fronting the ocean.
Environmentally friendly, organic farming processes, produce the best tasting fresh produce anywhere in Bohol. Taste it and See!
We decided to pay Bohol Bee Farm a visit as part of our tour business familiarization. "So much more than just Bees"
We were not sure what to expect and assumed it would be just looking at a few bees and that’s it. Oh how wrong we were! Its so much more than just Bees. Its about the environment, the ECO system and a sustainable future.
There is a guided tour (20php) that takes around 30mins. It highlights many aspects of the Bee Farm and its use of totally natural organic processes to grow vegetables and a wide variety of herbs and spices. Our excellent guide Edison injected a lot of humor into our tour.
The introduction to the bees was a little worrying for me, as they are not my favorite insect. Edison’s expert handling, proved the bees were very docile and I eventually held the honeycomb covered with the little critters.
Walking through the herb garden I was able to sample and handle several herbs I have never encountered growing here in the Philippines. Basil, Rosemary, Thyme etc, brought back a few memories of the UK and my Sunday Roast Lunch.
The staff at Bohol Bee Farm are encouraged to do livelihood activities, this enables them to give a little back to the community. Weaving and traditional hand crafts (raffia making, basket making, sewing) are on display and everyone is happy to chat about what they are making and the describe the process.
After the tour we were able to stroll around and just spend some quiet time enjoying the fresh air and ocean view. There is an excellent restaurant and the Bee Farm also sells the most delicious hand made ice cream with some unusual flavors…
We had a great time at the Bee Farm, although we were on a tight schedule the hour we spent there was most rewarding. For sure it’s a place we plan to visit again to just relax and unwind.
Stop by at their great gift shop, they have a wide range of organically grown herbs and spices, sauces, mustard and of course 'Honey". Plus hand made bags and souvenirs, many made at the farm.
Bohol Bee Farms also offers great accommodation, meaning you can really get to enjoy the whole natural experience. (we can arrange your stay with them if you wish, just contact us).
We now include a visit to the Bohol Bee Farm on our Panglao Island Adventure Tour.
Location & getting there
Located in Dao, Dauis, Panglao, the bee farm is easily accessible using public transport. Metered Taxis can be the safest way to travel but be prepared to haggle over the price.
If you are more adventurous you can ride a tricycle or Habal-habal (motorbike).
We can provide you a great value package that includes the Bee Farm and other tourist spots on Panglao Island. Group of 4 would be 560php / per person.
